I like Zachary's fine, but port pizza at The Star on Grand is worth weathering the pretentious name.

Zachary's is way overrated and the flavor is generally underwhelming IMO

I hadn't even heard of The Star - will investigate

check out Little Star (no relation!?!) if you have not - I love that place so much - they have a self-titled "Little Star" pizza that is close to "The Port", but I guess only if you order it with sausage, which is known as the "Brass Monkey" on their secret menu...

for me, that pic is almost completely acting as a reminder of an awesome thing I've eaten a bunch, hence the induction of hunger

all it really communicates to someone unfamiliar is 1) it's deep dish (this could actually a mark against, given the average deep dish), 2) it has cornmeal crust, 3) the sauce has excellent consistency

The Little Star Classic combo (sausage, mushrooms, onions, green bell peppers) is renamed for The Port (of Oakland). And the Mediterranean Chicken pizza from the S.F. locations becomes deep dish at The Star and is renamed the Gold Coast.
