So… I think most would say I’m a pretty open person about a lot of things, not everything; but most. There is a huge portion of my life that I kind of keep hidden from most people (well at least details about it) and that is my family. I guess you could say I’ve spent almost my entire life, lying about who I am.

Shortly after my birth my family was placed in the witness protection program. I was told the majority of things in regards to this as life went on. This morning I got a call from my mom telling me that they were told after 30 odd years, things are safe. My parents haven’t decided if they want to take their original names back. I’ve kind of been on the fence about if I want to or not, but I think I will.

Facebook is being a little bitch about me changing my name on here, but I wanted to at least post about it since it’s easier than trying to tell everyone in person.

So yeah. If everyone could, I would appreciate if you could try to call me by the name I was originally born with which was/is Alex.

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION: SHE IS A TRANS WOMAN WHO WAS WORKING A RETAIL JOB ... ONE OF HER COWORKERS REGULALRY MISGENDERED HER PUBLICLY AND ANONGST COWORKERS ... IT ESCALATED IN A PARTICULAR INCIDENT WHEN MY FRIEND WAS CUTTING A SOAP PACKAGE AND WAS BEING MISGENDERED BY SAID COWORKER. MY FRIEND SAID SOEMTHING PERFORMATIVELY THREATENING IN A MOMENT OF FRUSTRATION WHILE SHE HAD A KNIFE/BOX CUTTER IN HER HAND. THE INCIDENT WAS RESOLVED WITHIN THE STORE AND MY FRIEND WAS FIRED. MY FRIEND RECENTLY RECIEVED AN UNEXPECTED NOTICE FROM THE POLICE THAT HER EX COWORKER WAS FILING CHARGES AND SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I AM GOING TO THE PRECINCT WITH HER BUT WANT TO KNOW WHAT OPTIONS FOR LEGAL RESOURCES SHE HAS? SHE HAS NO ATTORNEY RIGHT NOW BUT OBVIOUSLY SHOULDNT SAY ANYTHING TO THE POLICE WITHOUT REPRESENTATION?
