Tales From the Crypt Season One - 8

Northwest Passage (recut of Twin Peaks to include basically only everything related to Laura Palmer and her death up to her killer's capture): 9/10
Some of the nuance is lost (naturally as we've excised a huge chunk of the story), but still, some of my favourite stuff on television ever. The inclusion of Coop in The Black Lodge is totally out of place at the end, though.

The rest of Twin Peaks S02 - 3/10
I've always said season 2 isn't SO bad besides that 5 episode stretch of James at the mansion, and Josie's story, and Andy/Dick Tremaine/Lucy, and Nadine in high school, and Ben Horne's Civil War (what's so civil about war anyway), and Audrey Horne and cunting BILLY ZANE for fuck's sake -- but that's not just five episodes, it's EVERYTHING that happens for the rest of the season until the finale (which was admittedly still pretty great). The show becomes truly fucking awful and I get why nobody watched it anymore and I understand and support the network cancelling it. It became just as bad as a daytime soap opera, ironically as they spent a few moments in the first season making fun of daytime soaps. Truly unforgivable shit.

Still excited to watch season 3 and see what they do with all of this mess, though. I hope they really cut the fat down.
