I still liked Vile, probably because Rob Barrett's on it, but everything after that was dogshit. Looking at how many albums they've apparently released since then (I stopped paying attention after Bloodthirst) makes me a little depressed. I used to really, really like this band, but it feels like a lifetime ago now. Sigh.

I made a shitty mspaint chart ranking cc albums and depicting a guy shitting on their latest for the bored around the time it re-spawned and then I went on tour with them and felt bad about it because they're the nicest guys who are making a living off this ridiculous thing they probably never envisioned themselves playing into their 40s and beyond and they do try hard to put out quality product and not rest on their laurels and the newer stuff is pretty good when you give it a chance in the right context. That being said I don't think shock/gore based death metal is capable of surpassing tomb, and the bleeding was a near perfect dm album so they already fucked the game up entirely 25 years ago. Man, he really is. I've met him a few times and he's always the nicest fucking guy. Gracious, humble and genuinely appreciative of fans. So pretty much the exact opposite of corpsegrinder. Don't think I've really listened to an album of theirs since bloodthirst but I accidentally caught a show with webster's instrumental tech metal band whose name I can't recall a couple years back. He's headbangin like crazy, blur o blonde, and my pal goes "... is that Alex Webster?!" Shonuff. Talked with him a bit after. Pure class as always
