OK so my entire life since forever, I've avoided all dark ambient type Mortiis shit because I assumed it was all low-effort throwaway crap.

Now I'm playing catchup, totally drinking the bandcamp trend kool-aid, and I want recommendations from you guyse

So far I've really enjoyed Secret Stairways, really not liked Depressive Silence, and 75% enjoyed Old Tower

There's so much of this material that it's all starting to blend together pls help

The first guy is from the band Pictureplane and the second guy is from Prurient

Not really sure what this guy did, exactly, but it almost sounds like he put his entire album through Paulstretch on low settings... it's definitely just 'blurred' somehow, could be reverb, but SOMETHING obfuscating is slapped on the master channel

I also found a band called Fortress of Mystery that mostly seem to be inspired by 1970s French vampire movies, and all their music is definitely from the MTron Pro Mellotron VST... like a lot of it is pressing 'play' on a digital tape loop and then noodling over it and there's the song

I don't think anybody should make music in a different way, from now on.
