I'll watch it first and then I'll be very interested in all the insane arguing on Youtube, but I've learned to stay away from all this stuff before I watch movies. It really helps to... enjoy stuff, I guess?
Agreed on all points. I'm personally totally addicted to the hype-cycle across all forms of media, and it's really negatively effected my enjoyment of almost everything. I still enjoy myself, but back when I would just go to the movies knowing nothing, I had a better time.
It's just tough, because so much of my outer-net socializing involves discussing pop culture... not being able to talk about COMING ATTRACTIONS at parties can sometimes be like showing up to class unprepared. I don't know how we wound up here, but that's what's going on.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
whoa... nice cross-thread reply
teenage/20s me LIVED to watch trailers but so many mainstream movies leave me so cold (upon actual viewing) lately that I don't even watch 'em (unless/until I become convinced I'm not going to watch the movie ever). I feel like it's a winning strategy. I have probably posted about this like 10 times here, and if that's true I apologize for becoming even more of a tiresome caricature.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
Yeah, luckily my offline friends don't really do any of this much, and if they do, they're considerate enough to keep it to themselves. I watched all of the Disney Star Wars movies knowing basically nothing going in, and it's made them so, so much more enjoyable. I really wonder how much longer this online hype stuff is going to last because you'd have to think eventually everyone's going to realize it's ruining movies for them.Eight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:26 pm It's just tough, because so much of my outer-net socializing involves discussing pop culture... not being able to talk about COMING ATTRACTIONS at parties can sometimes be like showing up to class unprepared. Aquaman - 0/2
Haven’t shut off a movie in a long time but couldn’t do more than a half hour of this trash. It was like a Michael Bay movie with even worse dialogue, exposition, and action, and the CGI was terrible.
