This is what Devourment's Butcher The Weak should've have been.

The washy blur of the 13 string guitar, Ruben back in vocals and Brad Fincher's erratic/spastic drumming.

I nearly punched someone near me when those pinches happened at "Cognitive Sedation Butchery"

That's the thing though, there are many countless slam bands out there but they can't match Devourment's 138 & Obscene.

A lot of the recent slam bands seem really lazily performed or sound way too clean. The sequencing of the riffs is as turbulent as performance.

The songs have this visceral immediacy that the imitators can't match.

The whole sound of the album is a blur but Ruben's vocals keeps the music like a glue.

Okay, Meshiha and Sick are probably the closest bands to sound like Devourment but Meshiha had members of the old Devourment and Sick is a total unabashed clone band that probably are absolute Devourment-nerds.

Even Devourment didn't sound like Devourment between Molesting... and Obscene...

It's like cooking a perfect steak, the ingredients are simple but it can be easily ruined.
