Similar to press coverage of Trump they're getting the idea of historic confused with good or even necessary.Necrometer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:34 pmSix Feet Under To Play “longest set” In The History of Death Metal

Dude look, a long time ago, the government held a council of wise men to try to figure out what's the deal with Six Feet Under... completely terrible, hated on because they were popular, appropriate as a joke, maybe ironic joke the whole time and only hip people knew... you know.
Anyway the council was me and Vernon, on AIM.... this was around 2008 I would guess.. our findings were that Six Feet Under had exactly one awesome song (Lycanthropy) and aside from acknowledging that, it's literally against proper moral conduct to enjoy the band.
I'm sorry we didn't CC you on that at the time, and you're just being told now. The position you've been put in is unfair.

Re: people on facebook.
I remember that song.
Sometime in very early high school, my friends and I would get together at this one house every Friday. There was a big boat parked in the driveway, and we were allowed to climb around it and chill in the cabin if we were respectful. They used to put on Sublime (or whatever) on the boat's stereo, crank it up, and skateboard around the cul-de-sac. The braver kids in our troupe had started bringing girls around, so that was going on too. High-pressure situation.
I remember being in a really bad mood one of these nights. I got the idea in my head that I wanted to show my darkness to these kids and any girls I hadn't met. I had a CD-R with 'Revenge of the Zombie' on it, so I took it out of my discman and put it in the boat's stereo.
I climbed out to the front of the boat, overlooking the driveway, and stood with my arms outstretched like a 14 year old pimple-faced Jack posing (without Rose) in Death Metal Titanic. I didn't hold a single pose for the entire duration of the song, but I remember clearly having my arms extended when he says "I'll cut your fucking head off!"
My feelings of loneliness didn't lift for at least 3 years after that, and I don't pity myself at all - society gave me what I deserved...

Re: people on facebook.
ok
so
the way he sings "soul" in that song made my friends & me laugh endlessly
after endless idiotic discussion about the evolution of the guy's vocals, I used the WAV editor on windows 95 to edit together a montage: one time chris barnes says the word "soul" from each of the CC/SFU records up to that point, and it came out like.... SOUL SOUL SOUL SOUL SOUL SOUL SOUL soooo-hooooole
i'm pretty sure that file is long gone now, but honestly why weren't we spending more time laughing about him kicking off the breakdown by barking "DANK"
I had no idea this board was rife with six feet under nostalgia

I was thinking about naming my kid after me but mostly out of lack of potential names and sheer laziness.
