Correction: the forward by William Gibson is from 1996. This is the Vintage Books 2001 pressing. With this art:
Miguel Trost De Pedro started performing around 1998 so it’s probably a funny confidence unless earlier printings use the same format. This version has around 800 pages, the original from the 70’s was closer to 880. I’ll shut up about this fucking book now.

A friend of a friend gave me about 30 old cassette tapes. One of them was that Fugazi album. When I want to listen to it someone had taped over it with Celtic Frost.

Are hipsters into Crate amps now? Kurt Ballou made a distortion pedal designed after one of their circuits I remember when they would get shit on unmercifully.

Some Crate amps had a similar distortion design to the Ampeg SS150 (Dischordance Axis and Assuck head). Cannibal Corpse used those Crates. Maybe that is the vibe? I don't keep with with Kurt Ballou recording stuff anymore.

It’s based on the g1200h which I believe is just some random head, not the one based on the ampeg.
He even mentions its based on their disgusting “shape” knob.
I have a similar g60 combo that I use as a head. It works fine for dingy maxed out noisegrind. It’s just hilarious to me that this is considered like a “cool” thing now.

those 90s metalcore bands got those awful tones out of those crates because the only way to make the bottom end not sound like a wet fart was to scoop all the mids out
honestly kurt has said before that they sounded like ass so I can only assume this was his attempt at recreating their tone but without the absolutely horrid eq

If I remember correctly he designed a guitar put out by First Act guitars found at Walmart, so,
