all things considered, that's a pretty reasonable final price for what is effectively the holy grail of NES collecting
if there's anybody in the world who'd be fucking unobservant enough to actually damage themselves with trap-soap I guess it'd be the guy with dialup in 2007

Such fucking pussies.

I got the platinum trophy a few minutes ago. The Beta Rescue Arena took me about 2.5 hours to finally get, but it became much easier once I settled on a strategy. The key was to stay up high on the perimeter where the neon is, and rotate clockwise shooting homing missiles and draining neon when necessary. When a hostage popped, I would head that direction and use the Slow-motion move to take out their weak points with Neon. For the bigger guys, I would use the charging melee attack, or the triangle move to take them out. I found that missiles were too dangerous, and tended to kill the hostage. When I saved the hostage, I would head back to the perimeter and spam missiles until the next hostage. When my Special ability was ready, I would head to the center and try to take out as many enemies as possible.

i can't think of many games i've hated more than alien: colonial marines.

i play plenty of bad games just because i think it's funny, but this one sparked a year-long grudge match with me.

what fucking stupid game has guns that get worse when you put sights on them?

time from "game over man!" trophy to uninstallation: approximately 15 seconds.

Ahem, brother. I've played worse games, but that one pissed me off the most. And the fact it was Gear Box's one two non-Borderlands punch combined with Duke Forever. Fuck that game and that company to hell. Only studio I'm boycotting in the history of games.

RIP XP Computer (2005-2015), I suppose we'll never see France nor the end of No One Lives Forever 2.

And there goes my Operation FPS plan, unless I can get some of these ass old games running on Windows 8. Time to start shopping around.

Went back and finally beat the Cerberus near the end of GoW3 on Titan today. Since this is by far the hardest thing in the game, I guess I'll finally beat the game at this difficulty, and then I'm like 4 trophies away from the platinum, so... yeah.

 You and me both, man.

Basically, the story is that I listened to the soundtrack, and that got me playing the game again. Then I somehow played through the whole thing at regular difficulty because it was exactly what fit into my life last week, and you can probably imagine the rest. I did have to try enough times for the game to ask me if I wanted to switch to easy mode, though. Ahem.

I'm just worried I won't get the upgrade trophy again. I'm at the first Zeus encounter and still about 6000 red orbs short of the last upgrade I need.

You really have to hunt down every chest in the game, because there's a bunch of extra feathers and eyes and horns chests in the game. Once you get all of them, the chests give you like 1000 reds each.

Yeah, I know. I thought I got all of the hidden ones, but clearly I missed a few.

I think I've decided what to do about a new PC. I don't care what the PC fagboys say, and I'm not interested in a machine that's going to replace my PS4/XB1. I'm gunning for a rig that will be replacing my 360/PS3. So, yeah, Bioshock Infinite at 60fps and 1080p and all that horsehit. The Batman games with all those physics will be cool as well. Maybe play Skyrim with them fancy graphics mods. A Dark Souls that doesn't run like ass in Blighttown? Oh, and a 64 bit OS means I can finally play HL2 with that fakefactory mod I wanted to try since forever.

Dark Souls + DSFix on PC alone is worth the price of admission.

Played the last of us remastered. It was aight. The expansion was laughably bad though, I would been pissed if I'd payed 15 bucks for that garbage when it first came out

One of the few things stopping me from pulling the trigger is the Intel core i5 4690 that comes with the PC I'm targeting. Again, I don't care about brand new games, but checking Steam MGR: Revengerance (for example) recommends an i7. If the graphics card is good enough this shouldn't even be an issue right? It wasn't really back 10 years ago, but I'm not sure if things have changed much.
