COVID Project Thread
Pandemic is starting to wrap up pretty much everywhere except Michigan where its getting worse. What did you "accomplish" during the pandemic?
* Wrapping up a post-graduate certificate in nursing informatics
* Recorded a demo of death metal songs (germfask.bandcamp.com)
* Bought the house across the street and have been fixing it up over the last few months, should move soon pending electrical inspection
* Got a promotion at work
* Gained like 10 fucking pounds of fat
Unfortunately working in healthcare me and boo have been busy to the gills otherwise and didn't get much downtime. The house purchase and the school were probably on the docket anyway. Once this wraps up for real and I can exit crisis mode at work I plan on doing a lot of bike tours.

very proud of you (mostly) vegan fuxx
I had a shoulder pain/mobility issue that was fucking up lots of recreational/exercise efforts during the months during late 2019 & early 2020. pre-pandemic PT was not helping at all. I got an MRI early in the pandemic and it turns out it was a labrum tear. I had already been limiting motion/use of that arm (I switched to left hand for the mouse, still do), and ended up with a moderately "frozen shoulder", which sucked - even less mobility! fortunately, I think that helped the tear heal (nature's sling?), so now I have regained my mobility, the pain has stopped, and I can do "press" exercises again. I guess the lack of access to gym helped me rest & heal? who knows...
I haven't really done much outside of work. science is going well, though, so I have been happy enough. my lab members sort of feel like my family/siblings/kids so maybe I am not so naive about the insane pandemic parenting stress feeling.
I made homemade egg-nog and irish cream for the first time. I don't assume any of you tough guys would be drinking bailey's in the first place, but that shit tastes like toxic waste once you've had homemade irish cream.

- Finally bought electronic kit, first time having a kit in the house in over a decade
- Started MBA
- Moved into house with a pool and not some dumb cOmMuNiTy pOoL
- Built batbox, hummingbird nest platform, catio on wheels, now gonna make a nesting tube for the mallards that apparently love our backyard
- Started renovating casita to be new home office/guest room: new minisplit, new floors, false wall for murphy bed and to cover up the garage door (may need actual third garage slot in future so not just closing up exterior wall)
- Kitchen knife skills are getting up there

Re: COVID Project Thread
Got a new job and have been excelling at it (September of 2020).
Started recording a lot more music (about 6 total song demos, which is 4 more than I'd done over the previous 7 years).
Got a new puppy (7 month old German shepherd mix).
Started regular therapy and medication over the last few months.
Fixed up a couple of old guitars and taught myself how to setup my electric guitars.

I'm sorry that you got the heepus and that your country is somehow making the States look like it's got its shit together, but I genuinely appreciate you inspiring me to read up on two disgraces of Canadian military arms production (and revisit Gretzky leaving for LA)

I’m ashamed to say I still haven’t gotten around to “The Bell Curve” or that book about Odin written by Varg’s wife.

Re: COVID Project Thread
Last March just before everything shut down, bought a mountain bike for my wife and turned it into an ebike to haul kids around.
Rode it about 800 miles in 2020, mostly on the weekend.

Re: COVID Project Thread
my job was only closed from March 2020 - May 2020 (opened to the public in June 2020), so the lock-down amounted to little more than a paid vacation.
chipped away at the stimulus for books, records, comics, blu-ray/DVDs etc without going totally broke.
got some of my own writing done... some of which got picked up by micro-publishers and online zines. see what happens.
