you’re in good company on this one, Vern:
Bill Murray Reveals Why He Agreed to do GARFIELD; he thought Joel Coen, one the Coen Brothers, was writing the film, but it was actually Joel Cohen.
etan co(h?)en wrote idiocracy, so he’s not a total asshole, but he’s definitely not one of the coen bros!
man thats just so weird. i swear ive seen his name as etan cohen or coen in a real coen bros film! oh well, at least i wrecked this page with fucking get hard

Fact #7
From an empirical viewpoint, the problem with Free Will (and causality) is reconciling determinism and freedom to make sense of morality.

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
I like Blazing Saddles, but I get it. Mel Brooks was the original Hollywood spoof man. The godfather to Hotshots, Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie… so on and so forth. If you didn’t grow up with it or were watching while the “jokes” were relevant/topical at the time of release it probably comes of as well as a fart in church. I think my kids lasted 10 minutes into it before finding something else to do. If you have never seen Star Wars, is Space Balls even watchable in the slightest?ghost boner wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:16 pm i hadnt seen blazing saddles in a very long time and watched it the other night. how am i not into this? is this just one of those films i needed to see when it came out? i mean its got some good laughs but as a whole is very... boring? sometimes i hate myself

ok that makes sense. there were a lot of references i could tell were timely when it came out but totally went over my head. i remember absolutely hating spaceballs as a kid but maybe ill give it another try. i only want to try all these brooks films because young frankenstein is my favorite movie ever and if something is comes even sort of close to the gold that is YF ill be pretty happy

Poster for Pig (just the image, typeface used for title, and Cage's face) sold me immediately. Very interested, know fucking nothing about the premise. Don't think I'm gonna read any reviews, just gonna see it blind. Nick Cage fucking rules

Apparently, somebody steals Nicolas Cage's pig... that he uses for truffle-hunting. REads like Nic himself came up with the premiseEight Bit Alien wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 6:38 am Poster for Pig (just the image, typeface used for title, and Cage's face) sold me immediately. Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
Films were a strange thing as a kid... some films you watched again and again (like Spaceballs) but it's not like you particularly enjoyed them, it was just what you did. Kind of the same for Home Alone. I'll never forget when I got to see Bladerunner for the first time though when I was still a little shaver... such a strange and awesome experience.ghost boner wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 12:01 pm i remember absolutely hating spaceballs as a kid but maybe ill give it another try

The right mood for a so bad it's good movie involves a few drinks and some friends.
I'm worried about trying Samurai Cop 2 though, as the whole reason I enjoyed 1 was the magic of unintentional comedy. Part 2 is bound to be too self aware.
