rate the last beer(s) you had 1-10
pinkus hefe-weizen - 7
organic, nothing special; imported from tukwila though i've never seen it before
wild beast raspberry lager - 2
was tricked into picking this up due to its 8abv. poured (into the drain) a dark crimson, more wine cooler than beer, the g/f wouldn't even drink it
maui brewing coconut porter - 8.5
this is what micro brewing is all about, and i'm a sucker for malty nutty brown beers. not sweet, using roasted coconuts. only micro brewery i've seen that uses cans. love this stuff but really hard to come by, even in honolulu.
mehana humpback blue, keoki sunset - 7
pretty straight forward pilsner & esb respectively. would like to try the mehana again...passed out with it unfinished.

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - 6
Doesn't taste as good as last year and neither does the Alaska Winter Ale.

Smuttynose Farmhouse Ale - 7/10 Good stuff, slightly heavier then I would like it, a tad "syrupy" but not distracting.

Rich, tasty dark ale from the Orkney Islands. Got two more before I head out.

Snowcap Winter Ale... this doesn't taste as good as last year's either. What's up with that? I am sorry to hear about the Alaskan Winter... usually that's my favorite one. I will try it this weekend. We also had a Scuttlebutt 10 degrees Below. That was really fucking tasty... it had hints of porter bitterness but was also a little sweeter and definitely stronger. Yum!!

Yeah I may have just gotten a bitter batch. I remember the Alaskan being much sweeter last year.bloodybloodlicker wrote:Snowcap Winter Ale... this doesn't taste as good as last year's either. That sweetness is why it's my favorite! I'm hoping it's good. I will report back.NANOplague wrote:

Otter Creek Brewing: White Sail - 4/10. Pretty bland. Slight citrusy smell and taste, but the carbonation is more noticeable than anything else . Not a good witbier, even for an american brewery. If Blue Moon is the Coors light of witbiers, I guess this could be the Busch or Natural Light version.

Steel Reserve - 10/10
quite possibly the best beer ever conceived, with a whopping 8.1% alc/vol it gets the job done at a price that can't be beat. Brewed in the depths of the Earth's crust for extra gravity.

After all the cheap, leftover sludge I've drank lately (Lucky, Brewhouse Pilsner), I give the few buds I had last night an 8.

Harvest Moon- 6.5/10 I was pretty disappointed in this. The first one seemed OK, but after that it just wasn't the same. Octoberfest is better.
Red Dog- I'm gonna rate this on a scale for beer pong beer and give it a 7/10. It goes down smooth for a real shitty beer, so it's a prime choice for playing pong.

Unibroue 16 Yr Anniversary - 7.5/10
It's pretty good, as far as I'm concerned... but I like the Unibroue Terrible a bit more.

Black Boss Porter - I'm not really that knowledgeable when it comes to porters, but it goes down easy, not too sweet, and has a nice head on it. 9.5% abv doesn't hurt either. $1.69 per 1 pint 0.9 oz factors into my rating.
7/10
