I've finally come to terms with this one because it does clearly show him removing the veil between panels 1 and 2b, so a brushing motion induce the popping sound from a previously-opened seal... but in real life you've really gotta try and make that thing move to get a noise out of it... the cartoon shows the equivalent of trying to move hair out of a girl's face and leaving a bruise on her forehead so it'll forever be clunky
