I wonder if Louis asked himself "Can I write the world's best fart joke?" If so, then yes he can. And he did.

FUCK. HALF of the episode I recorded got all SHITTED UP and I couldn't hear anything. And I could still tell it was awesome. Just disappointed they didn't air two episodes.

The first scene with his daughter was hilarious, but everything else paled in comparison. I know he's trying to keep things low-key and raw, but it would be nice if he could cast some better people in the smaller roles.

Haha oh COME ON! The scene where everyone is acting in a flurry, thinking his sister is losing her baby then just letting out the longest most unholy fart with everyone having that revelatory ease yet discomfort look on their face. I haven't laughed that hard out loud in quite some time.

I finally started watching Louie this past weekend streaming on netflix, and watched about the first 8 episodes or so. The next day, they take it off streaming and you can't even get the dvds in the mail.

that Daily Show was pretty solid - I liked the silly voices montage in the middle part

He thinks of himself as a Liberal Icon now. Shit...Establishment? That's not an easy position to be in. Especially since the generation that he's supposed to constantly attract (people much younger than me and you?) must be utterly foreign to him. So, okay, he hires a younger writing staff...does he even understand what they're saying? I don't know.

He's been fading lately, IMO.
Lately? That show got immediately worse when they changed formats and no longer needed their correspondents -- Corddry, Colbert, Riggle -- who were always the best part of the show. The highlights are still the pieces done by the non-Stewarts like James Oliver and that Schall chick (Kristin?). Stewart's not funny/versatile enough to carry the whole show.

But he's not just some talking head. It's his show. And whatever "younger writers" he's hiring probably all grew up watching by The Daily Show, which has been on for what, twelve years now? It's not like it's getting more youth oriented. If anything, it gets drier and more boring every year.

I understand why they still have stupid interviews, but the dude isn't Charlie Rose if you get my drift

Media and political watchdogging with dick jokes? Go for it. Suffering through Jennifer Aniston under the misapprehension that you're going to have a Frost/Nixon moment next time you book Charles Krauthammer? Come on. I don't think I've sat through the interview on the Daily Show or Colbert except when I've been to the tapings

Louis CK Sits On A Couch With Maybe Cornel West Or Somebody Like That would be a pretty good interview show I'd bet

The opening standup bit about the Jew and the flight attendant was the hardest I've laughed at any Louis CK standup in a while.
