Redstonehost is shit - 14 hour downtime with no response to my P1 support ticket. I'll keep you guys posted.

can this game run on a really shitty computer? its a 4 year old laptop with a completely useless video card but it runs really old games just fine (deus ex. morrowind etc)

nah, not really into having a box running in the house 24/7. I'd much rather roll a vps. This is the only time I have ever had a VPS issue. I'll use up my month here and go with another shared provider next month.

nah, not really into having a box running in the house 24/7. I'd much rather roll a vps. This is the only time I have ever had a VPS issue. I'll use up my month here and go with another shared provider next month.

no, just a matter of copying all the files over. The only thing the userbase will see is an IP change.

I never heard from them today. If there is interest, I can spin up a server on another host (it would have to be a new map) until they are able to fix their issues and I can restore the backup. At this point I don't even have faith that we WILL get our map back.

What do you all think. Start fresh?

I can wait mainly because of all the work we put in, but I do like playing with you guys. If you start a new temp map I'm cool with that. Maybe we will like it better and we can forget the old map.

Day 1:

One-man expedition into the Nether has gone disastrously wrong. Lured by greed for glowstone, I crept cautiously in and began building my scaffolding.

Suddenly, a Ghastblast deactivated the portal - a potentiality of which I was unaware. Subsequent research has revealed that another blast of equal strength may re-ignite the portal. I came without a flint - damn my hubris. I will have to log off and hope that the civilized world notices my absence and sends a rescue team.

Day 2:

The pigmen are ambling about my scaffolding, curious but revealing no hositility as of yet. The portal (my only hope for rescue) remains unlit. I can hear a Ghast mewling in the distance. I scan the horizon for a glimpse of its bloated contours, with dreams of luring it close to harness that awful breath - but to no avail.

Punched a self-replicating hellslinky to death with my bare hands.

Clumsily, I stepped into a patch of fire and combusted for several seconds. Nursing my wounds, I climbed back up onto my scaffolding, resigned to my fate for yet another evening. Two breads - why did I bring only two breads? Because I was sure I would be in and out in a matter of minutes. Because I am a fool.

I log back off. Tonight they will send a rescue team. I'm sure of it. They have to.
