I've yet to do a third playthrough with one build but the NG+ Four Kings were the same ol shit

dude have you played to NG++ yet ?
at some point i don't think you even HAVE a build anymore man
i've tried two-handing every high-powered weapon i have and don't get past the first two. the best strategy so far has been pyromancing the stone until i run out of flames and then switching but it's so dependent on which attacks they use
i had such an easy time of these guys the first two playthroughs too

but besides the basic stay close technique, the crystal homing soulmass worked really well if you have built any magic yet

yea I'm halfway through on a third playthrough and it's basically one or two hits to destroy any foe

using what ? my INT is only like 25 so i don't do enough damage at all with the homing crystal soul mass
have you fought them in NG++ ? it's a huge step up from NG+

no I think I just got to Anor Londo, and my intelligence is at a ridiculously insane level and I'm using the sword you get from Sheath so it basically isn't fair

I'm not remembering this but do you know what the glowing orbs in the catacombs right before you get to the pinwheel skeletons are for?

that's about when i put the controller down and just went to bed

so i gather at least to not fight them together and try singling them out right? so far its a little easier to isolate the skinny one. i like when i turn my back to him for one second and he closes the distance of the entire room and rapes me..

i guess i'll try a little mix of both

for me the best strategy was to create a lot of distance, let ornstein zip in with an attack that you either block or dodge, then hit him with as heavy of a fireball as you have. if you have the great fireball or great chaos fireball it shouldn't take more than a few of those to kill one of them. try to keep the pillars in between you and them, especially any time you need to estus. i think anything ranged you don't really have time to use.

yeah great chaos fireball rapes. this should work.

You definitely want to kill Ornstein first.

you have to kill each of them first eventually if you're going to do the man thing

damn. i stopped for a little while but my friend was texting me swearing up and down to kill the fat one first.
this is such an
absolute bitch of a fight to have to do after not playing the game for a couple months. i havent even re-acclimated to the flow and controls. i'm still in bf3 mode.

You can summon that sun knight guy to provide a distraction for 30 seconds or so. Helps big time.

Minor spoiler in case you really don't want to know anything...
After you kill one, the second one transforms, getting bigger and considerably more powerful. When I killed Smough first, I had two other players with me and we still had a hard time putting Hulkmode Ornstein away.
And I've said it here a couple times, but I'll gladly say it again - I've yet to kill those two fuckers on my own. It's an absolute bitch of a bossfight.
