As far as I'm concerned, you should like Tyrrion because he's the best character in the book and has, by far the best, most interesting chapters.

more feminine looking than I expected, but I assume they'll butch her for filming
I'm more curious about Melisandre, they'll have to find a female with looks that will chill you to death all the while causing orgasm...

Brienne's ugliness is secondary to her being convincing as a warrior that can fuck a man's shit up.

Good-ass book. Fucking brutal with the death and mayhem and intrigue to the very last page. The amount of subplots adding up at this point in the series is at once dizzying and fascinating. Kinda hard to imagine how some of the more epic and fantastical story elements will translate to TV.
There's a common theme in this series. The following characters are at one point or another either mistakenly thought to be dead, or more or less confirmed dead but still thought to possibly be alive in some fashion:
Bran
Rickon
Arya
Catelyn
Mance
Jaime
Daenerys
Brienne
Beric
Renly
Davos
Theon
Aegon
Aemon
The Hound
The Mountain
Moqorro
Tyrion
Varys
Probably a few more. Not a good or bad thing. Just sayin.

Stannis and Melisandre cast.

I was kinda hoping/expecting that. No fucking way that shit gets told in ten episodes.
But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it got Romed before then.

Come to think of it, if they keep up the 1 book = 1 season pace and then start adding extra seasons for the longer books, this shit could be like 12 goddamn seasons by the time it's done. Has there ever been a non-Curb Your Enthusiasm HBO series that lasted nearly that long?
I grow ever more skeptical.

That's fucking retarded. Those characters are completely different and don't even share storylines. What kind of half-head would mix them up?
That's even dumber than Ralph Bakhshi's LotR where they call Saruman "Aruman".

Aruman lol, I used to think that was weird, must have been a similar reason of thinking the audience dumb enough to get the names of Sauron and Saruman mixed up
Theon even makes mention how Osha and Asha sound alike, attributing the similarities in names to them both being bitches, they could have made a jape of it on the show as they do in the book

My brother went to hear George R.R. Martin speak in Redwood City tonight and he had a signing. My brother texted me what I would ask him and I said, "What's your favorite food?" His answer was "pizza".
