didn't know that, no... I'm only caught up to King Of Trios 2011, I don't know anything that's happened since then (so, I'm glad that your spoilers that I'm stupid enough to be opening aren't giving away match results or anything like that  )

this spoiler is about your spoiler and talks about 2008/2009 but it sort of gives away what's in your spoiler so I'll put it in a spoiler too:
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
the Osirian Portal started out as heels... they were kinda forced into a face turn because they were so good that fans were starting to cheer them anyway - Chikara has a close relationship with its fans, and Chikara fans tend to be smart but nonetheless 'play along' with storylines and stuff, boo who they're supposed to boo and cheer who they're supposed to cheer... see Chikara fan reactions to Larry Sweeney and especially Claudio Castagnoli for further examples of this phenomenon

anyway, the Portal were heels from their debuts, up until they lost the tag titles to The Colony which was - I think - in 2009... which would mean they debuted in 200...7? shit, I lose track of how long I've been watching this stuff, seems like only a couple of years...

haha, shit, just checked the dates on what I posted a few minutes ago (all are correct), and in doing so I messed up and found out who won King Of Trios this year...

a little disappointing, I'm not such a big fan of that team, but not really all that surprising

MUST NOT SPOIL RESULT OF SINGLES TITLE TOURNAMENT FOR MYSELF... I'm pleased and surprised that I haven't accidentally found out the winner of that one, especially since I've managed to spoil almost every other tournament result and title change for myself over the last four years or so of being behind with my Chikara viewing...

The other reason I know about Chikara is a friend of mine went to King of Trios and was gushing about it for a week.

it's indirectly the reason I haven't watched any wrestling for a couple of weeks...

I have an OCD thing that I must watch my DVDs in chronological order, so I don't get results spoiled by commentary on later DVDs

so I have to watch DGUSA's April events before I can watch King Of Trios

but I just want to watch KOT

and because my brain is broken I solve this problem by just not watching any of it :( :? even though my newest favorite is Akira Tozawa and he wrestled on (presumably) all six evenings

also, however good it is, I probably won't mark out over it as much as I did for some of the early Cibernetico events... I love that match type, combine it with some of the weird-ass over-the-top characters Chikara had back in the day and it's win-win for me

it's awesome seeing how big the crowds are at Chikara events in 2011, 'cause when I started watching the promotion in 2006 it was literally 20~50 people at every show

I was referring more to the main body of talent:

El Generico
Kyle O'Reilly
Hallowicked (and Frightmare was booked but pulled out injured)
Icarus
Mark & Jay Briscoe
Akuma as part of a tag team (his CZW run has shown he can't work as a singles wrestler)
Teddy Hart (annoying prick but the dude can fly)
Petey Williams
Colt Cabana
Necro Butcher

Not a bad number of names of guys I'm familiar with and enjoy watching - 11 dudes from 6 matches. I'm not counting the women's gauntlet because it sounds retarded.

There's no mention of Raven. I think you're misreading Rinaldo Piven.

raven was a backstage talent coordinator or 'agent' as they like to call him. i read about this event and i hope there's going to be some footage available. sounds like a pretty good show.

you think that's a stacked card? man... the Indie Wrestling Summit show (other/earlier half of the double-header with COD) looks better for me

glad to see some things on that card, though - no Akuma (maybe CZW's dropped him at some point since April, I loved him in FIST in Chikara but he wasn't getting over at all as a singles competitor), and Drew Gulak's dropped the Wired TV Title since the last event I watched... but also some bummers (no Adam Cole comes right to mind, that dude improved a thousandfold over the course of 2010... and Joker's still stuck tagging with Sabian who has sucked out loud for the last couple of years)

i'm ordering both shows. it's fairly certain that the indie wrestling summit will rule. pretty much beats shelling out 40-50 clams for a WWE ppv that may have 1 or 2 good matches and a whole bunch of nothing.

may pay the extra so i can get the dvd shipped to me when it comes out.

I'll get the DVDs for sure... when I've caught up with the rest of 2011. Still in April right now, just finishing a spell of unemployment so I went a few months without buying any. It's a good place to be though, I have Chikara's King Of Trios lined up and it's when CZW had just started bringing in BJW guys; in April they used Daisuke Sekimoto who I've seen in Chikara a few times and am a big fan of (dead lift german suplex on fucking Brodie Lee), and fucking Jun Kasai vs. Necro Butcher. Looking forward to these ones.

I also have Smart Mark's 'best on the indies' Jon Moxley DVD to watch, it's got a shoot interview (160 minutes if I remember right - if he's as compelling in a shoot interview as he is in his promos, that'll be fantastic to watch) and a whole bunch of his matches, including several that I've never seen.

Hopefully when I get back to Korea, I'll be able to start watching DVDs more regularly and actually catch up. I'm pretty sick of being 6~8 months behind on what's happening all the time...
