the blops campaign was the first one i didn't like whatsoever. even with the repetitive ones before that (even WaW) i still enjoyed them. it's gone too far downhill now though

It's funny when reviewers rag shooters for their story, but kiss cod's ass. Personally I thought the story with BF3 was decent, I thought it was awesome as shit Oleg was the Russian character. I like playing a character with a voice, name, and personality, not some throw away character. Fucking A' the difficulty in BF was rather high, but a challenge can be fun.

The emphasis is on clearly on multiplayer so they get a pass but I still haven't played any shooters with campaigns as bad as the battlefield series. I mean I was laughing at mw3's attempts to go controversial but the bf3 campaign was nothing but a piss poor 2nd tier attempt to emulate modern warfare whatever.

Beat the "bad ending" for SR3, which I found to be the better ending. I really and truly liked this game, but do I want to keep it in my collection for the future or sell it back? If it has split screen co-op there's a slight chance in hell one of my friends one day would fuck around. I'll keep it for now.

Grizzled around with WWE '12, my casual game along with Rock Band 3. Unfortunately, promises were not delivered, this game is not using a new engine and while there are lots of changes and tweaks and additions, I'm calling a spade a spade here and it's really just another Madden type roster update. Complete overhaul of the controls confused the hell out of me after years of being familiar with the old set up. And where the fuck is Macho Man?! I thought he was in the game, unless I missed him some how. WCW Nitro and Starccade for the win, at least.

I hear the new Skyriim patch makes dragons fly backwards and not attack. So, I'm still waiting till they patch the patch before playing.

I think I read that SR3 has three separate mission-pack DLCs planned.

I hope that thing bombs. The touch sensors or whatever on the back is so fucking stupid. "Oh, look you can climb with Nathan Drake by stroking your Vita!"

That was a lot of fun, mainly their banter among one another.

I played SR3 last night for like 1 hour (2 fist chapters) and I think it is the most fun game in the last couple of years. I now regret I've got it for the PC (my gaming PC is in the cellar), I should have got it for the PS3 (it is in my living room) so I would have the chance to play before going to sleep.

I feel like an old man with my "Garrrrr.... I hate me them thar touch screen and that thar motion control!!! And 3-D? I DON'T LIKES IT!", and sure-- maybe I just don't like them cause I'm not used to them. But the times I've used them, it hasn't been like the first time I used a dual-shock contorller (which was weird at first for sure), it just made things less immersive for me. I like having the close control a controller offers.
That and Sony can't even begin to touch Nintendo in the handheld department. They think I want a portable PS3 when all I really want is fun, easily digestible, pick up and play games. I don't want to play a fucking third person shooter on a 4 inch screen. How much is that thing? $300? What does it do that an iPhone or a Galaxy phone can't do?

I'd welcome a video game market crash right about now.

The more I ponder this, the more I think we have to be pretty fucking close.

why do you think that? more people play games than ever before, small teams making $2 games are making millions of dollars, and the releases of a lot of AAA games get more attention than most movies. for "the industry" to crash it would require people to get tired of and stop buying every single type of game on every platform at basically same time. that will never happen again.

I dunno, compared to pretty much any other part of the entertainment industry, I'd say videogames are doing pretty well right now. Both economically and in terms of quality of output. Comics are dying and Marvel and DC's answer is to throw even more unreadable garbage at the wall, drowning out what quality comics there are left, Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in at least ten years, and the music industry is still trying to fight the internet.

A lot of DLC is like that, or even worse...

http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-10-most ... money-for/ has some great examples... my personal favorite on that list is the train simulator which costs around $1500 if you want to grab all the DLC and charges you $20 each for every train there is available to drive...

They've all had that one. They lump Hardened and Veteran together for all the scrubs who can't hang on Veteran.

Been playing a lot of Dead Island. Driving cars in that game fucking sucks but the combat is really great. Even though I've killed hundreds of the same enemies, it hasn't lost its luster. I just got to the city and the atmosphere there is outstanding. This game might have the worst cutscenes of all time. I'm playing solo so why do the other three characters show up in them? Good ol' Euro studios. A lot of great ideas in this game and I hope they can improve things for the inevitable sequel.

I really enjoyed it. The city can get rough at times especially as you progress. Tons of zombies coming at you as you're walking down the street. It really adds to the overall tension but I was ready to move on to the next area a little bit before the game let me.
