Doesn't E--13's job involve some amount of driving? Alcohol withdrawal carries with it a huge risk of seizures, and 10 beers/day is a level where the risk of systemic withdrawal symptoms is highly probable if not certain

While quitting after 10 beers a day over 15 years will surely give you some wicked DTs, I can't help but wonder if we're hearing the whole story. It's odd that a doctor would just say "nah, dawg... keep drinking" instead of "you should probably get to detox/rehab immediately".

Yeah... plus the fact that if you told most alcoholics they needed to go to rehab, the only thing you're really going to accomplish is losing them as patients.

I'm guessing it has more to do with e.13, um, "filtering" the doc's advice. He may just have told him to cut back slowly and not go cold turkey, and in Cirrhosis666's brain that arrived as, "doc said I shouldn't stop drinking."
