 Will do.

I'll also have to play the whole danged thing again later because Sif is already dead in this playthrough. Sigh.

Killing the ash lake hydra was a heck of a lot easier than getting there.

Any tips for icing the taurus demons in the demon ruins?

just walk carefully. you can take them one by one if you watch yourself, and they don't respawn...so take as many trips as you need to.

That's my general policy, but that one down the stairs from the bonfire that appeared after I killed that leech centipede thing is pissing me off.

EDIT: Done with the Demon Ruins and Ash Lake, looks like it's back to getting slapped around by patlapse and beguile...

So I finally started playing this game, I had been putting it off because I knew it would be a life-destroying ordeal. Today I read this whole thread and it made me wish I'd taken the plunge with you guys on day one.

I just got to Anor Londo.

I will get back to being stuck on the Prepare to Die knight boss after I finish Bioshock.

Riley - I forgot to ask if you played the expansion yet with your usual platinum OCD aplomb?

Same. I was expecting the usual Dark Souls type boss and summoned the witch. I don't think I even got a hit in before the witch took it down. Weird boss.

if you're still working your way down the great hollow and don't have the lordvessel yet, it'd probably be a good idea to turn back now...

Hahaha damn. If it's an consolation, that sword is only good for like the first half of a first playthrough. Later on and in new game +'s there are much better swords to be had. You might actually enjoy trying out other weapons anyways, a lot of the fun of darksouls is trying new equipment and upgrading them
