Sounds fun, I have never been on a big ass boat before.

Some asshole was texting me trying to run a scam on a Craig's list sale. Stringing him along then telling him to get fucked was the most satisfying thing that happened all week. I set the bar real low.

there's a job opening that's pretty perfect for me in terms of work/location/responsibility and it was pretty much a done deal from my perspective, although the standard/default salary was sort of low compared to other comparable jobs I could get (although they're all worse in terms of non-money stuff). so I mentioned this and the boss/money-person was like "ok, that's flexible"... I finally hear an update: I'm now being offered 160% of the "not enough" figure, along with benefits. I didn't think I cared about money so much, but when someone throws it at me, it feels pretty cool. I'm sure something terrible will happen soon, but this will be a happy weekend.

That's awful about your colleague, BJ. How old was he? 4 year old and a 1 year old, that's fucking terrible.

The company line for pay increases this upcoming fiscal year was 3% across the board. My new boss who took over our department looked at the pay across the board for myself and my direct reports and realized right away that I'm a huge risk to jump ship at any moment due to the fact that I'm the least-paid manager under him, so he had to fight his ass off to get me a raise to get me where I should be, compensation-wise, for my space in the job market and to be somewhere comparable to the other managers in his department.

Had my salary discussion meeting this morning with my boss. I was expecting around a 10% raise, otherwise I was going to start sending out resumes. I found out I'm getting a 16% raise starting with my next paycheck. With the wife and I currently trying to save to buy a bigger house now that our son is running around like a mad man in cramped quarters, this was very nice to hear.

Just bought my first pumpkin pie of the fall. Can't say that it won't half be gone by the time I go to bed.

I already have games in my media class at our alma mater. Last semester I made some kids play the Stanley Parable in front of everyone in class. Just yesterday we taljed about sound design in Silemt Hill 2.

I'd work in a birth center if they'd let me. there was one dude at the second one we used. he was like only in the office though. and i think he was related to the main midwife. he wore nurse clothes for some reason.
