Too accustomed to stupid MACs and there stream line simplicity. Loading BMS has now became a job of its own on XP.

Still don't get why Apple doesn't... Fuck off, who cares.

Valve wants to support Lynux!, I give up.

Gaben's rant about the shittiness of windows 8 started to take on a slightly different air in my mind when I fond out Microsoft is packaging it with a game distribution program of their own

Gaben will make a game where when you beat it, it becomes self-aware and your computer starts jumping out the window and it hops down the road to Bill Gates house and it turns him into a hamburger and Gabe comes over and eats it, and then he comes to your house and says "I made that game" and that will be the end credits of the game

Beat Crysis and played lots o' Borderlands. Who cares about that. The Bill is once again drunk, and very tired. Finally got Black Mesa up and running. Aside from obvious tweaks to the engine which makes for very slow load times on super high graphics levels, this game. This remake, so far, is really well done. Professional level thus far. No joke. Mod of the decade so far. Great ideas on what they changed. Man, seriously, I'm a Half-Life lover and this is excellent so far.

yup. it's actually incredibly good. it's not a 1:1 recreation, although it's close. they changed a bunch of things to actually make it work properly with the source physics. the level of detail and care they put into it is shocking.

re: demon's souls

the Dragon God & the False Idol in one day
and what the fucking fuck, both are way easier than other the Tower Knight or Flamelurker. grabbed Estoc in 3-1 (two of them, actually), and now I'm thinking I might give it a chance... like the play style of the long sword and the fact that it rapes just about everything in sight as is, but rapiers and falchions are just a touch quicker.

Dragon Long Sword +5 is so close, though.

It's insane how they've reached their goal and recieved over a million dollars in one day. Still one whole month left to get more dough... this game is going to be fucking awesome.

Yes. One of the devs was saying he wasn't sure if they'd even reach half their goal within the first two weeks. It'll be a long wait for release but I'm excited to see what Obsidian can do freed from the limitations of publishers, catering to a AAA styled game, and (sorry) console controls. I love that studio and a lot of the people involved there so it's nice to see them receive some positive news for once instead of people constantly trashing their games for having bugs while other studios get a free pass. Heard they had to layoff a bunch of people and were close to closing down when Microsoft cancelled a next-gen game they were working on. :(

Pretty shocking to hear, actually. I thought it was a complete rehash of Fallout 3 and got bored with it and quit barely halfway through.

I liked New Vegas a lot but nowhere near Fallout 3.

Didn't care at all about him, but I also never got his personal quest. Veronica was an awesome partner, though. Totally dug that character.

I'll absolutely agree that it's a superior game (besides the slideshowing/freezing) but the problem for me was that it was too similar too soon. There were a ton of cool things that you've outlined and I agree with most of them, but I just had no more awe to give to the fallout world at that point. Or I had some left I guess but I just wasn't capable of being as excited about it. I was pretty Fallout'd out. Also 3 was the first one I played and I bet you'd find a huge number of people who played 3 first think it's the best of the two for the same reasons.

I thought the overall story was stronger in 3 for the most part though. New Vegas had better writing and better mini missions.

And they are games you play for a gazillion hours. I think I played Fallout 3 for around 100 hours, when I started New Vegas after around 10 hours I got tired of the same thing and never played it again.

P.S., Plus I have a soft spot for Fallout 3 because it was my first PS3 and the wow factor was really high.
