Jodorowsky's Dune - 8.5/10
Jodorowsky is quite a character. Sucks this never panned out, even though they probably would have butchered the source material more than De Laurentis and Lynch did. Still would have been more interesting.

Scanners rules but I'd say 7.7 is a totally accurate score

Raid 2 - 8/10 - A little predictable and dragged at times, but those fucking fights. Hammers and ankles.

The Raid 2 - 9.5/10
I have no idea where Paulo gets that there were less fists this time. This one is almost 50 minutes longer than the other one, and yes does have an actual plot. But the amount of violence in this one easily exceeds the first film. Gareth Evans is the new John Woo.

Phantasm II 7.5/10 OK, the first one was a great investment for the payoff that this is. What a strangely compelling mythos. Despite all the camp, these movies are legitimately scary/creepy compared to typical horror movies. Best part by far:Necrometer wrote:Phantasm 6/10 This is zany/kooky shit but there's nothing fancy going on, right? After the movie finished I was eager to read jame's "OMG deciphered post" which was basically exactly what the movie says when it stops for the epilogue? Wha?

the raid 2 9.5-10
i think somebody said something about there being less fists than the first because they just replaced fists with hammers, a baseball bat, baseballs, sickles, shanks, police batons, broom handles, cars, and machetes. the ping of the baseball bat on peoples skulls was probably the most brutal thing.
