as someone who has purchased none of the major releases today i can kind of sit back and enjoy watching everything burn

but holy crap people are bad about releasing games that actually work. odds of FC4 working and not sending me into a spiral of violence?

DA:I digital is preordered though. reviews are awesome so far. sounds like Bioware didn't lie about the world size and diversity...if it's Origins + more places to go, I'm going to be happy.

Pretty excited for it.

Didn't know MCC was broken too. Hopefully things get better next year and publishers start giving studios more time to finish games....haha never going to happen.

just read that review copies of AC: Unity didn't include any of the microtransactions that's some shady shit. I still have hope for FC4 though. it's got a Friday morning review embargo, so they must have more confidence in it than Unity and its (probably unprecedented?) embargo until noon on release day.

From the multiple hours of streams I watched and a few minor spoilers here and there.....it seems like they had enough time to make a proper game and listened to Origins fans. I can't wait to get lost in a huge meaty rpg like this. Might even pick up a second gpu because why the hell not.

What will be your first import world state? Off the top of my head.

Origins: Warden had godbaby with Morrigan and followed her into the portal, Bhelen dwarf king, Alistair and Lenora rule together, Wolves slaughtered the Dalish, Loghain a Warden, sided with Mages....Zevran dead, Leliana dead, "killed" Flemeth..

DA2: Sided with mages, killed the Qunari Arishok.....the decisions jn this one really did suck.

These Unity glitches are awesome. Hundreds of people worked on this game for years and this is their best effort.

AC:Unity is depressing in that it's a great story, super fun but the controls fucking suck shit and sometimes everything just like disappears and you're fucked. I've had to force quit this game twice today and WHAT THE FUCK UBISOFT

Bloodborne delayed till late March. This is fine as I'll probably need that time getting through GTAV & Dragon Age Inquisition (which the reviews sold me on).

Played a bunch of Lords of the Fallen while drunk on Saki. I don't know what I was doing and made almost zero progression. I remember being lost for awhile, then leveling up enough to unlock all magics at full strength. I think I'm doing this all wrong because I heard the game isn't too long, but I'm still playing and playing.

Played a little Serious Sam 3 and was really having a good time of it. A lot like Shadow Warrior in its feel & violence. I kept ripping out monster eye balls and killing dudes by chucking it at them. After I finally finish Shadow Warrior I need to go back to this.

I loved the first 2 Serious Sam games. They had those huge open environments with 100 enemies coming at you at once, and they were challenging.

They make the 3rd game feel like a cooridor shooter

I actually made all those same choices except the wolves made peace with the Dalish and Zevran and Leilani lived. god the DA2 choices were crap...

Bloodborne, noooooooo. I was so looking forward to getting that in the dead of winter, the best time to play Souls games IMO. springtime when it's getting nice out just isn't the same

apparently pausing the game resets knuckles' double jump, which means you can just bypass 80% of the game by jumping over everything. some dude on twitch is speedrunning it right now. just did the whole game in 51 minutes.

GTAV FPM might be cool, but even though I loved the game, I don't know if I could play through it again. It might be a novelty for an hour, but not for $60. When it's $5 after 3 months on steam then maybe.

Pretty much every single thing coming out until The Witcher 3 is bullshit. I might consider Far Cry 4, but it looks reeeeealllly similar to Far Cry 3. It has the symptoms of a franchise that's going in the annualization direction. The jump from FC1 to FC2 was huge. The jump from FC2 to FC3 was huge. FC4 looks like DLC for FC3.

This is why I'm less angsty about Fallout 4 being announced. Maybe they're taking their time with it. I'll pay $200 for that shit at this point. Make me wait until 2017. Just make it perfect, huge, and something I will spend hundreds of hours playing.

so i'm starting to think that the evil within is a giant pile of shit and i'm having zero fun with it. the combat is on par with the original splinter cell. if everything isn't planned out perfectly, you die. if you have to melee or think fast, you just die. i've re started this last part about 10 times. terrible

how far are you? this happened to me a few times early on, but in chapter 10 it becomes ridiculous. I died probably 10 times at one part, then about 30 times at a part right after that.

IMO the game wasn't too hard early on, just a matter of upgrading sprint so you can always separate yourself from the crowd, then shoot a freeze/shock bolt at them and light them all on fire.

but if you're not having fun and you're not to chapter 9/10 yet, you'll only dislike it more the further you get. I loved the first 9 chapters or so and then it took a huge nosedive.

where do i go to level up? do i have to find those mirrors to take me back to that chair?

yeah, it's those mirrors. they usually force you into one or near one at some point in every chapter, but sometimes you can find one on your own in a level as well (like chapter 3). you can usually hear the music when you're close to a room with one.

sprinting and pistol aiming stability are the key things to upgrade to make the game easier. it's a pretty challenging game overall though regardless of what you do, it just becomes cheap as fuck later on for a few chapters in a row.
