I deal with clients in the backwoods parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee on a daily basis, and the only people there getting medical treatment worth one-tenth of a fuck are the people that go to the VA med centers, community-based outpatient clinics, and the like. Their records are all computerized, which reduces unnecessary procedures, adverse drug reactions, and the likelihood that you'll die from a pedantic oversight oopsie. But of course, it's socialized medicine so clearly all these people are having their liberties smashed every time they don't have to choose between feeding Grandma another tin of cat food for dinner and paying for next week's insulin.

Whats funny about this is that William Beaumont Army medical center is the only Level 1 trauma center in my city of 750,000 which has three other private hospitals but oh it's death trap.

Easier than admitting you might be wrong about something.

He's calling bullshit after having never been to one of these hospitals and offering no evidence, either direct or anecdotal, about the quality of care offered at VA medical facilities except some dumbfuck unsourced knee-jerk retardation. The VA, over the past two decades, has been woefully underfunded by those rah-rah flag-waving chickenhawk motherfuckers that have no problem creating veterans but suddenly become shy about supporting them—and yet, they've been able to use their dwindling budgets to focus on efficiency and getting the most bang for their buck (see: computerization of records) to the point where VA treatment is some of the best you'll get in this country. VA doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are of the same caliber as you get in public sector hospitals, (except woefully underpaid) and offer a staggeringly wide variety of specialist treatment and added measures (like telephone consultation for people requiring daily medication reminders) on a budget that is embarrassingly small.

But yes, bullshit was called, so ignore all that, free market über alles.
