That is exactly how I feel about AMT. There is no good reason why I wouldn't love them, but it always seems to just fall a little short.

People hate this album, really? It was always my favorite because it's a little bit more on the metal side for them.
As for me:
(this goes for pretty much all RC...it's my favorite band).
(The Cross is a killer song).
(I think people give Deris too much shit. He's got a good, recognizable voice)
(not as good as SoND, but it lived up to it for me)
(I'm false, I know..but I got good memories with it. Reckless is a great song).

LOL I hated Shadows
I like Miasma just fine, but unhallowed is pure fucking thrash for me
can't say I've heard anything else by either of those bands, I don't know maybe that's all they have released anyways

Oh, no. As I Lay Dying continues to release horrible album after horrible album and BDM's records are getting more tired with each release. AILD front man is the one to blame for that horrid Austrian Death Machine parroty band.

That's most people's complaint with that album, however, I really think it makes the albums atmosphere... they're just "in your face", aggressive and over the top in places.

yeah, that's exactly what i mean. They're both bands where it's kind of like all or nothing. You really really like it, or you really really don't. And most people don't at all, even the ones who go see the shows when they both tour.
It's cool you found a Circle that fits your tastes, at least. I think that one is really rad too, especially the very last song.
I seem to remember that you have the Ratto Ja Lehtisalo / Reverend bizzare split right? What do you think of the Ratto side? That band is basically circle without the guitar player and that song in particular is one of their best tunes.
I just have the Reverend Bizarre track on the compilation 2xCD.... not the actual split so I couldn't say.
But yeah, I even made a thread about AMT a long time ago saying they had all the elements of a band I'd really like
in theory and then I would buy their records and be so let down, but be convinced I was missing a crucial album that would turn my opinion around. Then I realized that was never going to happen. I do really like the Hot Rattlesnakes CD by the guru/leader dude, however. That's a great album.
oh, ok my bad, I guess i just remembered a general RB thread.
I felt the same about AMT until like a month ago... I just found myself listening to the 4-5 cds I owned over and over again. Then I bought tons of albums and I don't regret it at all. There is great stuff there, it's just highly concentrated. It's possible my enthusiasm won't last.
Maybe I'll go post in that thread you dug up...
