i think the alien property makes all kinds of producer and executive type people totally squirrely and weird. so many people have had their hands on it and the average automaton type studio people guy has no idea what makes it still so popular? so the prometheus thing got going but even with ridley behind it he still felt like he had to spin it as something other than what everyone knew it was? and then prometheus being retarded yet life affirming probably didn't help. that whole movie universe just has an amazing track record for production scandals and weird curses i guess
