Looks like what cancer should look if it had a human avatar. Fuck,I could have used that picture when I was a teen to undo inappropriate boner moments.

I just had to look this guy up and it turns out he's been doing an advice column for NYT? I want to play chicken with all this horseshit, scoring points every time I find a deep contradiction like "An Illegal Marriage That Benefits Society? It’s a loveless transaction. Unless it isn’t."

Having lived 5 years in North Dakota and being an alumni of the same university, I can provide anecdotal evidence that indicate that everyone who has had Chuck Kloisterman in their life thinks he's a giant douchebag.

Thin people will never understand going over budget remodeling their house to meet their favourite indulgences when their other favourite indulgence makes them a pig-monstrosity that can't even fit in a fucking bath tub.

Even if it's not think of it this way, the people who run that blog constantly delete obvious troll posts. It's been up 12 hours, so the mods there think it's a valid example of fat oppression.

I wear a 12. It can make buying shoes at outlet stores difficult, because they tend not to stock as many shoes in 12 as they do 9 or 10.

Someone had the gall to say that as a skinny woman, she gets told to "eat a sandwich" by bigger girls and says that doesn't feel good, either. And then it erupts into an amazing debate about how talking about "Thin Shaming" is just as dumb as asking "Yeah, well when is WHITE HISTORY MONTH!" along with a ton of fatties spouting their version of "science" when it comes to metabolism.

hahahaha-- and now we're just going into deep detail on whose privilege gets top billing...
Ok, I think we can probably agree that while it's easier to be a thin middle-class white lady than a fat middle-class white lady, it's probably easier to be a fat middle-class white lady than a thin black immigrant woman.
And let's not forget those horrible shaming doctors!
One thing, before we get going; it's really time to get rid of the thoughtless bodysnarking caveat "unless you're a doctor." It feeds into the pernicious, dangerous delusion that a medical degree somehow immunizes one against fat prejudice, and study after study has shown that doctors shame, misdiagnose, provide incomplete or actively harmful medical advice, and are generally just as prone to act shitty to fat people for no good reason as anyone else

You have the privilege of shopping at normal stores and having a huge selection of clothing at your fingertips. You don't have to go to the furthest reaches of the few stores that have plus-sized sections only to be met with a huge mess and dowdy clothes. You have the privilege of not being stared at just for being fat (now black, maybe. I don't know about that.) You don't have people giving you diet tips when you are already starving yourself. You have the privilege of people not making assumptions that you are lazy and out of control. You have the privilege of not being confronted with constant articles about being fat and the rude commenters that come along with that.

If you want more examples of your thin privilege, just ask.
what a shit show

it is really really fucked up that these assholes gum up the body acceptance shit (which I am generally in favor of, I think) with their total abandonment of the idea of responsibility. you GOT FAT, you did that, fat didn't happen to you. and if you're smarter than all the doctors in the world, then you should REALLY understand that FAT isn't something inborn.

I'm supposed to feel bad for you that you have to walk around a store to find a size that fits ? Or you have to buy a bigger bathtub. Or people look at you and laugh ?? When exactly does the oppression happen ??

I can't help but be constantly amazed by the constant victim-hood of those in the Fat Acceptance Movement. I also only tend to see white women in the Fat Acceptance stuff. Is it because they feel left out when their black feminist friends get to tell them that they may be a woman but they STILL have it better than a black woman and now they want to up the ante by using the fat person repression thing?
i think your answer is in this wonderful statement
You have the privilege of not being stared at just for being fat (now black, maybe. I don't know about that.)
if i owned any pencils i'd be fucking snapping them reading that.

Maybe blacks were oppressed ? I don't know, I'm not a historian. All I can tell you is sometimes.. sometimes I can't find clothes that fit.. I'm sorry I can't talk about this right now...
