not a particularly good article, but this guy was on cloud nine just a few days ago regarding mitt's ineptitude and obama's chances.
i watched the debate and was pretty amazed at how weak obama came across. it felt like he was assuming everyone in america knows mitt is a liar and a phony and therefore didn't need to go on the offensive. the few times he did, he had good one-liners and it resonated...

I'll be surprised if Biden isn't strangling Ryan by the end of this debate and drinking his blood...

What I mean is, will Obama perform like he did a couple weeks ago, or come out like Biden? Or somewhere in between?

Re: The Unstoppable 2012 Election Thread: ObamneyCare Cage M
I'm actually really more interested in watching Romney react in this debate. Obama will know from past experience to answer the question and work in a talking point if he can. I think it's obvious that Obama needs to be more aggressive, that the town-hall set up is always better for Democrats and that Romney will be in a more reactive position. Romney seems more likely to immediately spin the question to the talking point directly, as he will be afraid to get himself in trouble by ad libbing in this scenario. Last time he had a script and Obama failed to throw him off it.
This time Obama will have the home-field advantage but can't dunk on Romney's gym too gratuitously. He has to answer the question genuinely and personally, and then find a spot for a sharp dig on Romney, he has to score points - both positively and negatively at the same time, make the crowd love him and Romney hate him and thus frustrate Romney into getting whiny, or terse, or arguing with the town-hall questioners or doing that blank-brained loud talking point recitation thing that even the dullest voter can see through.
So Romney will have to show restraint and at the same time defend himself somewhat assertively. Very thin line. Obama did it by putting people to sleep in the first debate to try to break the Mitt-mentum. It obviously did not work. Should be interesting.

Even Liberal media polls showed Romney gaining a bunch of points after the last one...
And my favorite poll: Vegas odds...he gained A LOT of ground...but he's still quite a ways behind.
I fully expect the economy to recover next year...given the massive cash reserves and all.
This election ain't going to affect that at all...I just really really don't want fucking Romney to get the credit.

Re: The Unstoppable 2012 Election Thread: ObamneyCare Cage M
I don't think it's even that complex. Obama only needs to say two things:
1. What, in detail, is your plan to fix the economy? Where are your 12,000,000 jobs coming from?
2. Why should a nation of poor, struggling people who have been victimized and pushed aside by the rich trust one of the super-rich to help them, especially someone who has changed his position on so many issues and who has chosen a running mate who seems incapable of telling the truth?

Yeah, this is my fear too, it will be really annoying if that happens. Considering that consumer confidence and employment are always the lagging indicators (which are gradually improving) and that the right has been near total obstructionists, the recovery, considering the depths of the recession is fairly remarkable.Necrophilic Mallard wrote:

I have both positive faith in Obama to do the right thing and have a good ground game, and just as much faith in Romney not being able to get through another three weeks without sticking his foot in a few more times.
