Really enjoyed this. The worst thing was the "don't be a loner. Family is great." forced down my throat, but it's a Lego movie, and the Daleks were in it, so it's fine. Can't believe I went to college with the guy who wrote it. He was so... I don't want to say uncharismatic.... generic.

Like it was dictated to someone by an eight year old, with their understanding of video games, government, military, love, relationships and especially humour. Which meant the video game parts ruled and everything else ranged from annoyingly bad to WTF confusing.

Nevada Smith - 10/10
Perfect movie with Steve McQueen and Carl Malden. Western with McQueen hunting down his parent's killers. Pretty epic tale. After watching Papillon recently for the 4th or 5th time, i think McQueen may be my single favorite actor. Top 5 anyway. Can't think of a better acting role than him in Papillon except maybe Rod Steiger's role in In The Heat Of The Night. Been on a Western kick lately, but even if you're not really onto Westerns this is a must-see. Really just a revenge flick (then again, all Westerns are).

i can never use "what's your favorite movie" as a password reset question because anybody who meets me in person knows, within a few minutes, that i love robocop
get out: 9/10. i don't know if it deserved all the fawning adulation it got, but the ultimate reveal was really good despite what normally would have been dangerous amounts of exposition in the midst of the third act

Re: Latest movie you watched (1-10 scale)
re: you and spooky's qualms about the reception for get out... I kinda hear you. I think it was a great movie not for its social commentary stuff, but just because it was an effective and entertaining thriller. tons of RED EYE vibes... and it's not like that movie was critically acclaimed. half the fun was seeing where the story would go - I went in blind and am glad I did so. the "twist(s)" were admittedly pretty silly, but it let the story go where it needed to. based on score disparity, I'm tempted to propose that TF saw less trailer than spooky did?

caution/optimism
it's like he's only half-trying with the voice/accent but I'm assuming it'll work in the context of the movie
