Philadelphia - 9/10 - The Bruce Springsteen song can fuck off but the Neil Young song is fucking devastating. Demme's way of framing people directly in the center of the frame is so unsettling and is done better in this film than in Silence of the Lambs

Hex is cool but Boxer's Omen and Seeding of a Ghost are the kings of Shaw Bros horror.THE KILL wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 2:14 am Hex (1980) - 6/10
Ok-ish Shaw Brothers horror film. Pretty slow, sometimes silly, but the last 15 minutes offer one of the most spectacular pairs of breasts I have ever seen, plus somebody gets their ears ripped off. Because I'm such an excellent poster and a team player, I hereby include a link to said tit scene:

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - 8/10
Gorier than I expected, fantastic special effects all around, not a minute too long.
Rush /5
Highly entertaining Italian "postapocalyptic" trash bullshit from 1983. This was everything that Samurai Cop was supposed to be.
They also made a giallo called Corpse Mania that stands strongly next to the Italians.

Boxer's Omen -
Fucktons of weird shite in this movie. Has some neat ideas, but a lot of it is barely more than cheap excuses to show gross stuff, like banana peels being repeatedly eaten and spit out again. All of the models in the film were embarrassingly badly made. The story was either incomprehensible or non-existent, but I have to admit I missed the last fifteen minutes or so due to falling asleep. Mate didn't, and he said nothing was cleared up. It didn't help that the lady from Hex (the one with the spectacular knockers) didn't show up in this film, which I had hoped.
