Wind River for the 3rd time. Best movie of the year. Followed by The Hero.
Get Out was OK, but the Critics make it out to be the best thing since The Godfather. People need to relax with this flick.

I think I think IT was a dumb emotionless movie.

The parts with Ben got me good, because when I read the book as a kid his age, I related his feelings towards Beverly with a girl I remember loving in the same way.

That's about fucking it. It unintentionally reminded me of a person who wasn't in any book or movie.

It's not a horrible movie and it's better than the direct to VOD crap but it wasn't anything else either.

I might just be in a foul mood or incapable of separating the book from the film to properly experience the thing as an independent work, I'm not sure.

I think it should've been set in the 50s. I'll start there.

Dunkirk - (I was really bored and ended up looking up facts about Russia during WWII instead of paying attention to the film/10) I was bored.

What did you learn?
Mostly about Finland and their personal conflict with the USSR trying to take some of their land right on the onset of WW2 during the their own Winter War. Then later with Nazi aide during the Continuation War. How the Russians way underestimated them and how the Russians looked weak in victory, which ended up being the major reason Hitler called for the simultaneous assault into the USSR. Also, about Denmark and Norway not allowing French and English military aide to Finland early on, so France/UK could have actually been warring with Russia then. And finally how the US just didn't care if Finland had Axis ties as long as they were fucking with Russia.

I also learned that Nolan can make one boring ass WWII movie.

oldboy (2003) - 9.5/10. only not a 10 because netflix kept fucking up the subtitles. missing lines/popped up too fast. it also seemed like it was cutting some scenes too quickly

Star Wars The Last Jedi - 7.5/10

I enjoyed it, there is humour in odd places, it’s very long & there were a couple of big holes in the plot, but I still enjoyed myself a whole lot.
