Blade Runner 2049 - still a 9/10 for me.

I still think the Jared Leto scenes are at best unnecessary and the Replicant Resistance is hilariously misplaced - the latter in particular seems like something left over from an earlier draft of the script that they just kind of couldn't get rid of because someone had to get K out of Vegas, but they could have done that without the impossibly cringey moment when all the replicants step out of the shadows.

I've kind of been able to make peace with the way things wrap up too quickly, though - obviously K would know that they're taking Deckard to the Wallace building, but with a movie that takes its sweet time with absolutely everything else to this degree, it's still kind of jarring that there weren't a few scenes of... I dunno, him flying there and maybe seeing that they're leaving with Deckard just as he's arriving or something. It's just weird.

Everything else is awesome, though, and I still think this is about the closest to a worthy sequel that we could've possibly hoped for.

lords of chaos 5/10? essentially no idea what to make of this. there's no apparent throughline; tone is all over the place; hard to tell how much of the comedy is deliberate. my trailer-based hypothesis checks out: it really feels like a top priority was pissing off varg (he's played by a pudgy Jewish guy and comes across as pretty pathetic, which is weird because I always had the impression that euronymous was the massive sad-sack loser).
