yea at Wrigley you can't go home sober, everytime someone in your section of the bleachers leaves they will come back with 4 beers and hand it to someone with an empty hand,

My Pirates just locked up Nate McClouth, the only bright spot on the team, for the next three years for $15.75 million dollars bux.

That's rad. Have fun. I wonder if Manny Ramirez will make his way to the Dodgers sooner rather than later.Honky Kong 64 wrote:I'm going to spring training in AZ this year to see the Dodgers. STOKED

Looks like A-Rod has a new hiding spot for his syringes...under Fatassia's gut, right next to the chicken bones, Coke bottle caps, and the August 2007 issue of ESPN The Magazine. AMIRITE OR AMIFUCKINGRITE?!?!?!?

well just projected on average stats of the dude in my head I figure the starters will combine a record of around 64-58
I expect you guys to get an 80-81 win season but that will no way get a playoff spot
I just would feel dirty inside having to watch Looper and Suppan pitch back to back

Re: Pisscubes/Molester Stallone's Official 2009 MLB Thread
Chad Gaudin in my opinion is probably the single most important person on our team right now, with the lose of Kerry Wood we definitely need a guy in the 6,7,8th innings to close the games down now that Marmol is going to be our 9th inning guy
we are also in a crisis of needing a 5th starter, guys to choose from as follows:
Marshall
Samardzija
Heilman
Gaudin
Hart
Guzman
Gaudin could also be relied upon in this position as well as a long relief guy
so either way Guadin will be playing a very important role on the time I'm just interested in how it's going to play out
and I think Fukudome will have a really solid year with a reduced role and a years experience
he should be more comfortable playing here
and playing between Soriano and Bradley he will be huge for us defensively

and for Boston I think Jed Lowrie could very quietly put up 75+ Runs and take over as full time SS

Joey Devine quietly destroyed pitching last year. I see no reason why he couldn't do it again. I think Brad Ziegler could be very good, as well. I just don't think it's possible for him to ever match his MLB debut.

Re: Pisscubes/Molester Stallone's Official 2009 MLB Thread
Even though his bat is perhaps even more suspect than Lugo's since his arrival in Boston, I'd rather the Sox kept Cora, if just for the bump in fielding percentage. But yes, I think Lowrie is the answer. With a little more plate discipline, he will be a more constant bat, and those two inches of reach (and nine fewer years of life) over Lugo will translate into better fielding in the long term.
I still want Orlando Cabrera back.

No one is talking about Nick Swisher, and I think he'll be a dangerous bat for the Yanks this year. Then again I don't listen to sports radio, so maybe people are talking about him... I'd just be surprised if anyone was talking about anyone other than A-Rod right now.

sorry but I'll have to disagree with you here
I'd be surprised it Swisher makes it to July with the Yanks
one of either Nady or Swisher will be traded sometime and I suspect it will be Swisher
but even if he is kept he will bat 8th and contribute little to nothing and be a defensive liability
had one okay year in Oakland but he is incredibly overrated

I think Swisher has the potential to rebound. He really seemed to lose his confidence after he was traded. He used to be an all-or-nothing, enthusiastic player who always played with a smile on his face, and he seems to have lost that. I think his confidence has as much to do with him slumping than anything else.

The combination of really good stuff and an incomplete but improved understanding of American League pitching strategy. If and when he stops pitching his way from 0-2 to 3-2 counts with regularity, he will be the preeminent pitcher in the AL East, possibly in the league as a whole.Pisscubes wrote:Looking back it's almost unfathomable that Dice-K had 18 wins and an ERA under 3 last year.
