if you act WOW'd by science all the time, you're either an adept performer (a la nye / NDT) or you don't actually understand what you're talking about

he's completely full of shit, and his bio-hacking company sells "science at home" kits that don't even come close to working

he also made a "biological musical instrument" that doesn't do a fuckin' thing and it took me like 10 minutes of sifting through videos to find this out

how do you even begin to identify what gene is responsible for the way yeast ferments when working in a garage? in my experience its extremely environmentally dependent anyway. Kudos to him for actually eating shit though.

I actually feel for him re: the horrible intestinal issues, though. I can't be that mad at him since a lot of his efforts are clearly mostly duds, but he's still managing to do harm: I heard a story of a HS teacher who was trying to set up a "gene editing" thing at his school and ended up burning a good amount of cash on a totally useless kit this asshole was selling. just terrible.
