Re: bike thread
oh, i also had to buy a steering tube extender and a few spacers cause the fucking handler bars were so low when it was put together. my back killed me after my first day of riding. but the new part is on now, and while not quite as pretty, it does it's job and the bike feels great

Re: bike thread
how much snow do you get in the winter, geeheeb?
i can't handle riding on the side of the streets in Boston after any kind of snow or ice, but our roads aren't exactly known for being wide, safe, and comfortable for bikers in the first place. i also don't know how well i'd handle riding in temperatures below freezing.

Re: bike thread
I know aeser rides in the boston winter. We get a lot of snow from Lake Michigan (just like Rochester), but it doesn't really start until later January / Feb. We have about 6 inches on the ground at any time, sometimes as much as a few feet, but eh...its different every day. The streets I ride are about 1/2 plowed, and half just car-packed snow, so I can't go full on studs, and I don't like mountain bikes. Also, that is a single-speed, not a fixed gear.caldwell.the.great wrote:how much snow do you get in the winter, geeheeb?

The coldest I have been out riding was 4F (-16C) yet, but the snow is worse.

Riding in the winter/snow is awesome fun. if you are dressed for it, it is not bad at all.

Re: bike thread
It has a small BMX freewheel on the rear, so its a single speed, not a fixed gear...
