Probably not too different but it's made by the original Bioshock team and that's enough to sell me on the game. The AI work they've done for your partner seems really impressive so I'm hoping the story holds up and the interactions between you and Elizabeth keep the game interesting. The world looks amazing, too.

So was Bioshock 1 a lot better than 2?
I might have to try the first one then.

Bioshock 2 felt more like an expansion to 1. First game is a lot better.

Infinite is good. What I've tested, anyway. The story and music = awe. I'll be shutting myself in to play in marathon fashion when it officially releases.Pisscubes wrote:2 just felt like a dumber version of one. Something, in my mind, on par with Psycho Mantis in terms of breaking the 4th wall. 2 had the same mechanics, but was just a pale imitation story-wise and just felt like more of the same.DR. Anyhow, I have very high hopes for the new one. I think you're right, though-- it looks a lot more face-paced. Those sky-rail things have me a little concerned

I'm far from console only. No doubt I'll be back to PC only one day when I can create a better set-up. Probably going to need a bigger house for that.a world of no wrote:FUCK! in that case you should take bioshock and let me have xcom, since your system most likely cannot handle newer games yes?

Bill, use this to see if your system can handle the games. It'd be a shame to be gifted a game that you can't run.

Well, I was being greedy as I have Bioshock on disk, but not Steam. Okay, you take X-Com, I'll take Bioshock. I think I have an extra copy of a Steam game as well. Half-Life 2 perhaps.a world of no wrote:in that case you should take bioshock and let me have xcom, since your system most likely cannot handle newer games yes?

What I love about the Bioshock games is they assume I have some intelligence and I don't play video games just to become numb. Granted, this isn't fine art or anything, but it's "Hey, you're an adult. We tried creating an interesting world with a story using theme you might be familiar with from other works."Kurt Russell's Beard wrote:Infinite is good. What I've tested, anyway. 43MB update for 360 Tomb Raider. Probably just multiplayer nonsense.

Apparently, I never agreed to Steam's community agreement clause. Well, that's taken care of. Should work fine now.Wang Mandu wrote:All I'm finding is godrazorrr but there's two of them. Thanks again for the gift.
Beat Tomb Raider. Guess I panicked for nothing. I liked it a lot better than all the recent games I've beaten including Far Cry 3, which has soured on me when I look back on it.
Now I have a free game Friday to fuck around at random before Bioshock arrives. Nickle & dime-ing Serious Sam the Second Encounter or BL2? Maybe see if MOH: Warfighter has what it takes to out awful Aliens: Colonial Marines?

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
you guys finish games incredibly quickly
doesn't that seem strange? Is there any real average playtime for games these days? Depends too heavily on the genre I guess... would a fair aggregate be 40 hours?

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
nah, it's not even close to 40 hours unless you're a completionist, and even then that's probably too high. a ton of games can be finished in well under 10 hours, and obviously less than that for downloadable or mobile games
