best part of e3 so far is todd howard subtley referencing that amazing sweet little lies video. "Sometimes....it doesn't just work." I unapologetically love that dude.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Well, forget all that nonsense. Combat and myself just don’t connect. I’ve found myself backtracking away from enemies and just firing arrows at them. Many times missing at point blank range. Game has a combo system with melee, but it isn’t intuitive. More like doing a Mortal Kombat special move with the right stick while dealing with regular first person gaming type ways. I’ll revisit if a mod comes out that changes this. I get what they we’re going for, but honestly I don’t feel it adds realism, but actually distracts more than anything.
Now on to Far Cry 2 (modded).

Evil Within 2 was good, particularly the parts where you explore the city; like a current-gen take on Silent Hill.
God of War still not grabbing me, so I got Resident Evil 7. At first thrown by how different it seems to other Resident Evil games, but then, what do you know, you're looking for keys in the shape of animals and running out of inventory room...

Those were my 2 favorite games of last year. I hear they patched Evil 2 to have a proper first person veiw. I had to use a console cheat/tweak at the time. Wonder if its more refined.Chigurh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 6:24 am Evil Within 2 was good, particularly the parts where you explore the city; like a current-gen take on Silent Hill.

Deleted Far Cry 2 just because all the traveling to and fro was mind numbingly boring. Kingdom Come was the same way, but more forgiving with quick travel.
Now playing the old SIN pc game and it is great, goddamnit!

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Had a lengthy vacation, had PRK eye surgery, and will be going on another vacation so this an anti-video game summer of The Bill. When my vision finally clears I can get back to Sin. I have been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider again, here and there. Really like this game. It is a way better Horizon Zero Dawn.
I did mess around with Dead Cells although text is still unreadable at this point. Fantastic take on the Symphony of the Night formula.
4K might as well be 480i at this point.

Beat Rise of the Tomb Raider (again). Think I’ll give Conker’s Bad Fur Day a try (via N64 emulation). I know it’s summer and there aren’t really any new games, but I see a major drought in this thread. Are all my old game buddies still coming to this site?

Kelly and I play Diablo 3 occasionally, and I use the PS4 for Rocksmith, but otherwise I hadn't played a video game in probably a year or two (unless I'm forgetting something, which is totally possible) until I played through the Shadow of the Colossus remake this last weekend with my brother in law and was like, holy shit, video games are FUN ! So I might go look through what I've missed in the last couple years and see if there's something I want to dive into.

I feel I see you on Rocksmith still pretty regularly when I see you on my friends list.riley-o wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 11:41 am Kelly and I play Diablo 3 occasionally, and I use the PS4 for Rocksmith, but otherwise I hadn't played a video game in probably a year or two (unless I'm forgetting something, which is totally possible) until I played through the Shadow of the Colossus remake this last weekend with my brother in law and was like, holy shit, video games are FUN ! I’m learning some kiss songs for a birthday gig, it’s been practical of late.
We had Klinks 50th the other week and did a killer Aces High thanks to Rocksmith as well

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames)
Ever since I got Beat Saber about a month or so ago, I've been on a really big rhythm game kick. Started playing and practicing Osu!. Slowly getting pretty decent at it. Also picked up a 360 Guitar Hero controller and have been playing a bunch of Clone Hero on PC. It's easy to forget how fun that game was before Activision completely destroyed the franchise.
That's mostly it. Looking at an RTX 2080ti tomorrow, and just kinda waiting for Doom Eternal.

Yakuza 0 has been pretty great once it gets going.
