I just really love the story and combat in those games. I hate the sprint races through the city with a passion though...

just finished Uncharted 3 pretty fucking MEH

has a few really awesome spots but I can't give it anything higher than a weak 8

not worth the $60 IMO

I'm a huge fan of the series and honestly it might be my least favorite one

the IGN reviewer is a giant douchebag for talking up the twists and turns in the story being so fucking awesome because they aren't and there hardly are any

edit: the story still is good and worth playing through so don't get me wrong you'll have a blast with it but I don't recommend paying full price

i think uncharted 3 has been great so far. i'm about 75% of the way through. it's not worthy of getting perfect scores, but the only games this generation that justify perfect scores are demon's/dark souls as everyone with half a brain already knows. i don't care about the plot twists, just talking about the level design and set pieces (especially chapters 12-15).

my only complaint is that based on the chapter i'm at the game will only take 12 hours or so to beat. 12 hours for $60 is NEVER justifiable regardless of how awesome the game is. and yeah i know i'm cheap, fuck you. but if you can buy it used/sell it after beating it, it's more than worth it. only reason i bought it new/won't sell it for a while is because i like the MP a lot.

I'm not entirely sure but I figure I had to have gotten through in under 10 hours I hardly played it

you can hit pause and check your total play time. for some reason i think the count is off and i've played it a little more than what it says (it may not count the times you die?), but that 12-hour estimation is me fucking around a lot, basically walking around everywhere trying to find treasures and playing on hard. a sub-10 hour playthrough is more than doable if you're fast/playing on a lower difficulty. i might be wrong, but wasn't uncharted 2 like 20 hours? that felt like a long game.

then again my biggest complaint with Dark Souls is it makes all other video games suck so hard

for me, all three AC games have gone through this phase, but I've come around to loving all of them in the end... just a case of getting used to the game physics, learning in which ways it's gay, and compensating for the flaws, perceived or legitimate

I've probably mentioned this before, but I played the first Asscreed for about two hours until I decided I never wanted to play another game in this series. I couldn't even finish the first assassination, it was just too fucking annoying.

I am really enjoying the uc3 co-op, both arena stuff and the three player missions.

 a girlfriend got me that game as a gift... I played through the first assassination and thought it was OK, then when the second one started and I realized it was going to be the same fucking thing for an entire game, I shut it off forever

then I youtubed the ending staged in modern day, and I was super happy I didn't waste any more time with it

it was neat the first time you post up in a high place and get to look around though

I didn't even get to an Assassination before I realized it was a really stupid game with the worst controls I've ever seen. No idea how that game passed QA with those shitty controls.

I watched my friend play through a little bit of it, and it looked so incredibly boring. Splain' the lure.

The newest Assassin's Creed (well in the beta) didn't seem to do that random springboard bullshit the last few have done. Personally I've never played the first one, I jumped right in on the second. You can scale buildings pretty damn quickly now from all I did in the beta.

Anyway, when the new Saints Row comes out whose getting it? I had a blast with two because of how absurd it is. I'm thinking of picking that up after the holidays (too tight on money at the moment).

Fuck that, it's always good to have a copy of Tromeo and Juliet in your video library to go along with all those Criterion Collections. I'm getting this game for sure. Saint's Row is just like GTA except FUN.

SR3 is second only to Skyrim in my list of games I'm most looking forward to in the remainder of 2011
