And because so many of them were irresponsible fucktards, we generations that have worked goddamn hard for degrees and the wonderful "career opportunities" that await us like Starbucks barista and Home Depot associate that our parents were able to get with barely a high school diploma and yet somehow afford to buy a 1500 sqft house on a single 20-something guy's paycheck.

Fuck uncontrolled voting with dollars - the current housing market is exactly what voting with dollars creates. Irresponsible spending at the micro level over decades of idiocy has created an entire economy that's just plain unsustainable and will probably leave us worse off than where we started in the 40s.

NEW POOR: one of my friend's neighbors (who have 2 young kids) just got kicked out of their house because their property taxes increased slowly over the course of 3 years, making the home unaffordable. they'd been trying to sell it--including a short sale--for the last 6 months, but who the hell is going to buy a house with sky high property taxes in this kind of housing market? oh well, the transient lifestyle should toughen the kids up.

i'm not supporting his argument as a huge blanket statement for the economic downturn, but god damn it dude, we have a fucking right to be bitter. my parents and most of their generation wanted nothing but the best for me and their kids but they kind of fucked up, now i gotta help clean up what they thought was 'right' and 'wrong.' it's not easy man, let us be at least little butt hurt about this situation please.

also, maybe it's because i've worked my ass off over the years for the little money i have, or i'm just a tightwad because i never really had money growing up, but i also reserve the right to chastise my friends and others for being fucking idiots with their money (since i'm usually the one they come to borrow from and never pay me back anytime soon). ESPECIALLY welfare/unemployment. christ, it's a privilage, not a fucking right. i'm definitely not saying take it away because many MANY people need it but what's up with this sense of entitlement? wake the hell up. i'm just sick of seeing some of my friends blow an entire week's worth of unemployment one night at the bar, while others would have loved just a twenty of the said wasted cash to stretch out for a month's worth of food.

How deep did you research? It is a contradiction in tenets, libertarian socialism--how many authors are loathe to dilute the prime "no rule" credo with the actual workings of wealth and service distribution; however, that is supposed to be part of it. And you can find many proposed models. You just have to look deeper than Proudhon and Kropotkin groundwork stuff. It's not right of the force. Its object is one of humaneness and fairness, to a damning fault. Regardless if it's sustainable, and that it might be purely utopian or ultimately futile, what I'm saying is that our system in the U.S. is too exploitive to support or "fix." I can't fucking support it any longer. It's wretched. I need something more socialist.

My company is cutting a bunch of people's hours, going from FT to 15 hours a week and no benefits.
Obviously, they are all pissed off and depressed. What's worse to me is that for some reason, they thought they were gonna go through the net because most of them have been with the company for over 15 years.
Obviously they are now being replaced with kids who will do PT work for $8/hour.
I went to break with a bunch of the seniors the other day, a couple managers were there and gave me the evil eye when I talked about France's workers protection and loss of employment's notice (3 months vs 2 weeks in in FL). Then I added "If we were in France right now, everybody would be on strike to protest, but of course we're uuuh... Communists like you guys say..."

Seriously, one might chalk things like this up to the stupidity of workers here in the US...but it's simply a matter of education. Their education and sentiments are lacking, they don't know what they're doing or what they're feeling. The socialist revolution was halted in the US due to FDR's reforms and the work of Capital. Most other places in the world went through all of this stuff 60 years ago...the US was an abortion. Will it be corrected a generation+ later? Hopefully. It's going to be painful, though...

Imagine NOT feeling like you could lose your job at any moment and you have to fight wholesale against everyone else in life in order to "get ahead." Imagine actually having some dignity...
