Do mushrooms ever "go bad" ? If kept dried in an air tight bag ....

Not if they're totally dry ("cracker-dry"). Store them in some dry white rice for awhile to suck out all the moisture, and they'll last a loooong time.

If they are properly died they won't go bad, but may lose a negligible amount of potency over time. If the stems snap like a twig they are dry.

Best way to ingest mushrooms:

put dried mushrooms in a coffee grinder, don't over-grind
put ground mushrooms in a small glass or shot glass and cover with lemon juice
wait five minutes
take it like a shot




Starting out with a low dose is probably a good idea for newcomers and those of a fragile mind, like our buddy ross here. But I would say do at least 1.5-2 dried grams. It's also a good idea to have some xanax or other benzodiazepines around in an "in case of emergency break glass" kind of way for oh shit moments.

That "recipe" has nothing to do with not tasting them. The taste doesn't bother me. Grinding them up and letting them soak in something acidic makes it hit you faster and makes for a smoother ride all around. Try it yourself and then come back and talk shit. I dare you.

I've done shrooms a few times... the experience was a pleasant high with no visuals to speak of (maybe I didn't ingest enough for that). In short, I could function normally (more or less) while shroomin'... nowhere near the "clear your schedule" effects of LSD.

Anyway, those who do shroom, I hope your source of shrooms knows his shit and at least cultivates his product. I'd be extremely wary of any wild collected shrooms, since there are a few deadly look-alikes lurking out there in nature.
