has last.fm radio jumped the shark?

I've noticed most of my favorite last.fm stations are playing more and more shit as of late. Classic punk stations play more mall pop crap like Rancid & Good Charlotte and nu misfits than sst bands? Genesis station plays less Amon Duul and more Asia? Joy Division station gets me the knack? what the fuck is this shit?

have last.fm users tagging in such a willy-nilly fashion infected it w/ utter faggotry? Does the nature of consensus based social-networked media mean that eventually the pool becomes wider and shallower over time?

the stations I ocassionally listen to play all good ones. the shark hasn't jumped to me.
