What kind of music should my friend's screamo band play?

It's pretty clear that screamo is in its final, dying days, and a smart screamo band would ditch the style for the next style much like how a smart nu metal band would switch to screamo in like 2003 or a smart thrash/groove band switch to nu metal in 1994. Now I want my bros to do really well, and I'm working pretty hard to figure this shit out and make them a next-level fashionable band.

I know one of the newer things to do is to introduce stoner rock elements in the screamo like so:



But that's not really next-level, it's more like the funk-thrash of screamo, and there's already lots of bands doing it. Kinda wish my bros would just toke up and jam instead.

yeah they're pretty mind numbing, in some ways it's cool though. the show was packed full of kids wearing their shirts. and i'm sure a percentage of those kids will later realize how that band is kinda shitty and start discovering better music elsewhere. the other half will forget about it and listen to Deftones for the rest of their lives and drive 4x4's everywhere.

Yeah, I can get down with some pretty false music. metalcore/ spastic-false grind, whatever, but these guys aren't even remotely interesting. They sound just like any of the hundreds of other hatebreed meets my chemical romance meets slayer boring bullshit bands.
