Ipod help again....

While playing on shuffle my 60 gig Ipod froze. It happened in between songs ,when I skipped a song, the backlight has stayed on even though it normally is off after 15 seconds and I've tried the standard remedies like holding the button down in the middle and flicking the toggle swith that puts it on hold. Any suggestions? I have a long roadtrip tomorrow and to do it without tunes will suck.

Thanks

Hold down Select and Menu together for several seconds with two fingers. Make sure your finger isn't touching the Click Wheel. When the Apple logo appears, release Select and Menu.

Crack coconuts against rocks and dance to the beats.

I hate how the shuffle mode isn't really random.

I always assumed that shuffle was random and it was just my pattern recognition going nuts seeing links between the songs? I know they have like fancy shuffle settings on itunes itself but though the players themselves are just random.

Sometimes I get a mix with a lot of the same bands or even albums in the span of a few hours. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it was TRULY random.

I think thats confirmation bias. I am going to look on the INTERNET for an answer. That sort of thing should happen if it is random.

Always thought computers could never produce truly random generations.

Thanks Man! that worked. I'll be in buffalo in July, I'd be willing to buy you a few beers!

Nano you seriously need to re-examine your understanding of randomness.

Dammit Patlapse the only reason I (and everyone) didn't instantly say that is because you said:

ANYWAY, now you actually know the one and only standard remedy.

only analog can be random. Digital can't.

A computer can't create true randomness because there is no entropy. You can try to get some entropy from real world events, but a small device is very limited.

I am just saying.
