The Humpty Dance
Listening to this as if I haven't heard it a billion times, I have to say, I grudgingly admit it's a very fun song. It's got a great beat and a great bassline. It's one of those hits from the days of yore that I think deserves the hype. And it doesn't take itself seriously. Most of all, the bassline though. In fact, I find it increasingly hard to like a person who has a problem with The Humpty Dance. It's like people who don't drink - what's your problem?! And that fuckin' bass loop...

Some of the old timey blues and whatnot, and surely a few nBlacks in metal... that's not specifically black music, but I don't have a problem with black musicians playing music I enjoy... I just don't like rap/hip hop whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Not my thing in the slightest.White Like Jesus wrote:Well, do you like black music in general?Toxicarius wrote:Wait, is that the video with the nBlack wearing the nose glasses? Digital Underground is also notable for launching the career of member Tupac Shakur....

Re: The Humpty Dance
Early EPMD, some Schooly D sampling Zeppelin riffs, the odd counts of Eric B. and Rakim - there was a bunch of cool stuff that happened around that time. The first 3rd Bass record had some killer piano riffs.

Such a fun song to dance to, and yes, that bassline is THE JAM.

"bundlesofvitals" + seemingly unreadable death metal avatar that I don't recognize = someone I didn't expect to enjoy Digital Underground and 2pac.
This board is awesome, and this post gives me an excuse to post yet another video to (maybe) piss of some serious metalheads who for some reason clicked this thread. It's all about 1990.
