i guess teufel is the lesser of two evils, so let's all post in this one!

no high expectations here, but i'm looking forward to it. i've recently re-watched the last two of the movies and: yes, they sucked. that said, bad futurama is still better than most others.

hahaha... thanks... I think?

I have low expectations for the series, although I did really enjoy Bender's Game. The other movies were okay, although The Beast With The Billion Backs was kind of lame. Either way, as you said, even bad Futurama is better than the majority of the other stuff on television nowadays.

What was the last word with the voice actors? I think I remember people saying some key people weren't on board to do new stuff after the movies, but that the show was progressing nonetheless?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#Revival

Near the end of a message from Maurice LaMarche that was sent to members of the "Save the Voices of Futurama" group on Facebook, LaMarche announced that the original cast would be returning for the new episodes. The Toronto Star confirmed, announcing on their website that the original cast of Futurama have signed contracts with Fox to return for 26 more episodes. Similarly, an email sent to fans from Cohen and Groening reported that West, Sagal, DiMaggio, LaMarche, MacNeille, Tom, LaMarr, and Herman would all be returning for the revival, set to air in June 2010.

I have a few of the Toynami ones. A friend of mine who makes toys made me a Bender pillow for Christmas a couple of years back:

I lost all faith in this show after the movies.

I'm still going to watch the new episodes, but I'm not expecting much more than pure dog shit after those movies.

They completely forgot how to tell jokes in those movies.
The only question that I thought was hard was do I like Kirk, or do I like Picard?

I cant think of a time a television show has been made into a movie that was any good. This was compounded by the fact that they had to write the movies in a way that they could be broken into four episodes each.

It's quite possible that returning to a format that actually works for them will save the franchise.. I said it back when they were talking about making the movies, this show
is too complex and densely packed with ideas and entertainment to sustain a series of feature length films... works much better and more effectively within half hour episodes.

My optimistic feelings have stemmed from nano-like sentiments. I liked the first movie FWIW. The most recent one... gah.
