The surely & inevitably stoppable "Industrial" metal thread

Post by Dann O))) »

I've been listening to quite a bit of this kind of stuff lately, (early) Pitchshifter, Godflesh, Soulstorm, Dead World, etc....

There were so many bands that put out stuff in the early to mid '90s that I have not heard in forever and was thinking of seeking out again.

Like,

Treponem Pal?
Optimum Wound Profile?
Skrew?
Malhavoc?
And Christ Wept?
Misery Loves Co.?
Fetish 69?
Crawl?

Add others that are worth re-investigating...

As usual the word industrial leads to remind me to regather the GGFH discography.

I have this cd by a band called Goliah (called Reflections) that I bought at complete random from Extremist Records over a decade ago. It's a pretty sweet Dead World clone... i can't find ANY info on the band at all..

Rabies and The Process from Skinny Puppy are very metallic/industrial. I don't understand this Malhavoc shit; always thought that band sucked. Front Line Assembly's Millennium samples a lot of popular metal guitar riffs, too. Kevorkian Death Cycle has an awesome song called "Lifter" that fits this category. Cop Shoot Cop's "Ask Questions Later" (on the more organic rock side of industrial), Killing Joke's "Pandemonium", Ministry, 90's era KMFDM is pretty good, and I have to admit, Trent has some good noisy songs, like on the Broken EP.
