I remember, last year I think it was, they had a poll among NHL players about who the most annoying player in the league was and Crosby got like 55 or 60% of it with Sean Avery placing 2nd with something like 13%. It's just that he does whine to the refs alot and is kind of notorious for diving/over-selling some calls, not like other players aren't, but he's the most prominent of the bunch. Me personally couldn't give a shit either way about Crosby. I don't make a big deal of him being a whiner but I also don't make a deal of him being the most awesome guy to ever be awesome either.

Don't forget that Gretzky was the same way. I don't recall much diving on Gretz's part but he bitched a lot to the refs and definitely thought he had a sense of entitlement owed to him by the rest of the league. Funny how he was a King for 8 years yet most Kings fans favorite memory of Wayne was him getting punched out by Dave Taylor back in like 85.

I knew he bitched about calls. I just don't see the big deal. The only reason people notice him doing it more than anyone else is because he's high profile.

Also, I admit my hockey knowledge isn't as extensive as yours or plenty of other peoples. So? I've been watching hockey only since about 2000. I decided to watch the coyotes just cause I closed my eyes, opened a magazine and flipped to a random page and the team that was on that page was the yotes(Keith Tkachuk). There's been seasons where I'm really into it and some not so much. Sorry for rambling but I never really claimed to be a hockey jewru.
